In July 2022 one of the most impactful publications of recent years on anaerobic fungi taxonomy came out!
Now, I know, 'most impactful' sounds awfully self-serving. But hear me out:
Noha and Mostafa, two distinguished experts on AF taxonomy, and their team started this initiative last year. They contacted other experts and scientists working on this topic through the AFN network and asked them to join in on an exhaustive opinion paper on AF taxonomy. And, after some back and forth, and a lot of work from Noha, Mostafa, and their team, this is what we are looking at: the collective opinion on AF taxonomy. Hence, 'impactful'.
