Following the HiPoAF project, which deepened our understanding of the detection, classification and preservation of anaerobic fungi, my work within the FUNGAS project focuses on collecting practical insights from biogas plants that already apply biological treatments. I am taking a closer look at current use of products based on microbial and fungal enzymes to improve the degradation of lignocellulosic biomass and enhance biogas production in the agricultural sector. Together, we aim to assess the feasibility of integrating such biological pretreatments into existing biogas plant processes. By combining the fundamental findings from HiPoAF with the applied approach of FUNGAS, the goal is to bridge the gap between research and practice.
