Bettina MöSnang
Researcher
Dr. Bettina Mößnang is a microbiologist specialised in micro- and molecular biology, with extensive expertise in anaerobic microbiology and environmental systems. She is currently a research associate at the Bavarian State Research Center for Agriculture (LfL), where she works in the field of microbial processes related to agriculture and biogas systems.
Her research focuses on the analysis and optimisation of microbial communities, including work on methanogenic archaea, anaerobic digestion processes, and the application of molecular methods such as qPCR and next-generation sequencing. She has been involved in several research projects addressing biogas microbiology, microbial methanation, and emission reduction strategies in agricultural systems.
Dr. Mößnang obtained her doctoral degree (Dr. rer. nat.) from the Technical University of Munich, where her research focused on microbial processes in sludge digesters and biogenic sulphuric acid corrosion. Alongside her research, she has extensive experience in laboratory management, project coordination, and the supervision of students and technical staff.
Her work aims to improve the understanding and application of microbial systems for more efficient and sustainable agricultural and bioenergy processes.
