Nadine Lukas

Student Assistent

Freie Universität Berlin | M.Sc. Biology — Specialization in Microbiology

Working as a HiWi since 2022, Nadine has focused on the isolation and characterization of a novel anaerobic fungus from rodents of the family Caviidae. Responsibilities included anaerobic cultivation, roll-tube isolation, Sanger sequencing, nanopore-based next-generation sequencing, and phylogenetic analysis using MEGA, alongside morphological characterization through light microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy. Nadine has also assisted with the maintenance of anaerobic fungal cultures.

We are a team of scientists from Austria, Germany and Switzerland working closely together combining microbiology, biotechnology and bioinformatics to investigate potential benefits deriving from the biotechnological usage of anaerobic fungi.
